Sunlight

I heard a talk on the radio about our body’s natural inner clock, the one that helps us adjust to jetlag. They said our ability was connected to the sunlight. However, our artificial lighting disturbs it. In the daytime, if we get more sunlight, we will sleep better at night. In the 20th century, most of a person’s daytime is spent in an office or enclosed building. At night, we pump up the light with our TVs and Computers. We are disrupting the balance of our natural system.
When I heard this, I was reminded how I love opening up the window. I love the light from the window inside of shutting the shades and turning on natural light. The slight breeze from the outside. Sometimes, I would even have the outside visible through my window overnight, so when I woke up, the first thing I would see is the outside.
Also, it reminds me of the “need to get fresh air”. On the summer days, when I’m in my house a lot doing things, the whole day, I feel trapped almost. Taking a short walk on the streets brings fresh air and energy back into me. Each day, I try to get some fresh air now, whether its time in my backyard or exercise.
In the same way, may this blog, be a bit of fresh sunlight, full of stories, makeup, and fashion.
